Jane O’Connell is a writer, editor and content specialist who has worked in broadcast, digital and print media starting as a cadet journalist in television news. Throughout a fifteen-year broadcast career, Jane covered police, health and general news beats as an on-air reporter before moving to prime time current affairs as researcher, producer and supervising producer.
In 2000, Jane moved into digital media, joining ninemsn – a joint venture between PBL and Microsoft – establishing brands from the Nine Network and the ACP magazine stable online and on mobile devices.
In 2008 she relocated to Singapore to head up regional editorial programming and product planning at MSN (Microsoft) then to London as the Editorial Programming Director for MSN across all international markets.
Since returning to Australia in 2015, Jane has worked primarily with CEOs as a freelance writer and editor. Recent book projects across sport, psychology and business include Chasing Extreme by Luke Tyburski (2017), Pick Me! by Lynne Schinella (coming 2021) and 100 years of Currumbin-Vikings SLSC by Ian Hanson (coming 2020).
Recent media projects include contributing writer at Escape Southern Highlands and editor and features writer at Highlife magazine. Jane studied Communications at the NSW Institute of Technology (now UTS) and has a Master of Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
